The SANI-SPONGE kit is designed to collect samples to detect the presence of microbiological contaminations such as Listeria, Salmonella, E. coli, and other food born pathogens on almost any surface. These kits are widely used in the food, medical, public health and cosmetic industries.
DE Neutralizing: ( Dey/Engley) For surface sampling in areas that were cleaned with disinfectants such as alcohol, so for example, clean room environments, environmentally controlled areas, air monitoring systems, etc. Neutralizes antimicrobial chemicals and allows for pathogen detection.
The primary purpose of all buffers in our pre-humidified sponges is to enable capture and then promote growth of any bacterial microorganisms present on the surface being samples. These surfaces (counters, floors walls, equipment, poultry or other meat carcass surfaces, etc.) have usually been cleaned previously with cleaning agents that may interfere with growth of bacterial colonies, therefore prevent their detection. Buffers neutralize various cleaning agents, allowing the microbes an environment within which they can grow. They also provide nutrients to promote bacterial growth. Laboratory workers, food company quality personnel, etc. will be familiar with which buffer is required based on what they are testing for.
The SANI-SPONGE kit is convenient, easy to use and helps eliminate several time-consuming steps.
All sponge kits come with a 4.5 in x 9 in. TWIRL'EM sterile bag.
SANI-SPONGE sampling kits are produced in accordance with HACCP, USDA ACIA and CFIA requirements
